For those of you who don’t have any plans for the weekend, yet, I have a last-minute travel tip: the Christmas Market at the Waldwipfelweg in St. Englmar. The Waldwipfelweg is a walkway high above the forest, with beautiful Christmas lights – suitable for the whole family.
Christmas Market in St. Englmar
My friend and colleague Tina recently visited this inspiring fair and took some photos for my blog. Magical, isn’t it?
At Christmas the Waldwipfelweg at Maibrunn with its adventurous offers and its unique House Upside Down changes into an ocean of sparkling lights. Idyllic, romantic, and magic stalls with creative seasonal handiwork and crafts, hot mulled wine and delicious local food and treats. Every day they offer a great range of entertainment for young and old. And the fantastic view over the snow-covered winter landscape. Their pub „Woidwipfehäusl“ has got a cozy restaurant and lounge and an indoor-playing-section where you and your family can have a break, enjoy and relax.
It is a 2-hour-drive from Munich and the ideal location for a long weekend, or maybe just for the third Advent? They offer free parking spaces and the walk from there is short and well-lit.
So, get ready for a hopelessly romantic weekend in the snow.
