If you are ever in Davos Klosters and would like to go out to a fancy, traditional restaurant, this would be my favorite pick: the Höhwald restaurant. It is situated at 1300m in the small Walserdorf Monbiel and has been running by Silvia and Heribert Dietrich sind 2015.

The food critics from Luxos described the Höhwald quite well: “Its interior features lots of timber, and the menu presents simple, tasty food, mostly made using local products: soups and salads if you’re not too hungry, and larger mains with fish and meat served with vegetables or baked potatoes, which will satisfy even the most difficult gourmet connoisseurs. Fantastic home-made bread, prepared fresh every day.” (source: Luxos)

I especially loved the warm athmosphere, all very lovely and cozy, the staff was very cordial and the guests all very polite and rather reserved – in a good way. My personal recommendation: have the dialog of veal! The beef cheeks are to die for – I can still remember the taste of it. It’s actually my favorite kind of beef, so that I am VERY picky. But they served it perfectly!
