You all know that I am a true soccer girl and I have also two hearts beating in my chest – one German and one American. <3 Thus, Andy and I were thrilled when the wonderful Jens from rad-ab.com asked me, if I could cover a press conference for him – hosted at the Allianz Arena.
A well-known company has joined the FC Bayern partner network! From 1 January 2016 Goodyear, a premium manufacturer of high performance tyres, will become a platinum partner of the German record champions. The Bavarians and the world-famous company announced the partnership on Wednesday evening at a lavish press event on the Allianz Arena esplanade.
“Goodyear is an internationally renowned company committed to the highest quality,” commented Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, who was driven to the esplanade by Franck Ribéry. “You can’t wish for a better partner than Goodyear,” continued Rummenigge, whose focus is on progress in terms of internationalisation: Goodyear is the most successful tyre manufacturer in the US.
Goodyear’s managing director responsible for Germany Jürgen Titz, brought to the press event by FCB captain Philipp Lahm, commented: “We are incredibly proud to cooperate with these footballing giants. It enhances our premium brand.”
New tyres for the team
The Bayern pros can now experience Goodyear quality for themselves – in two ways. Several players’ private cars – and the team bus – have already been equipped with Goodyear tyres. Lahm and Ribéry already had the chance to witness the quality at the launch event as they competed in a tyre change. Titz said: “FC Bayern are an ideal partner for further raising the profile of our premium brand.”
The multi-year agreement includes perimeter advertising at all Bundesliga home matches, miscellaneous advertising rights as well as numerous activation initiatives for retailers and customers.
For me, the perfect beginning of some wonderful Thanksgiving holidays – especially since I managed to get an autograph from Philipp Lahm for my brother. <3
