Do you remember the old school days when skateboarding entered the early 90’s? Some say it was even the best decade in skateboarding. Well, if you know what I am talking about, then you probably also remember this logo:

Damn, I was admiring my friend from the U.S. when he was wearing his cool skateboarding clothes, doing tricks on his board. I was so impressed! And that was the moment when the name Ken Block turned up for the first time.

Ken Block is one of the co-founders of DC Shoes and a professional rally driver with the Hoonigan Racing Division, formerly known as the Monster World Rally Team. In fact, he is probably one of the world’s most spectacular drivers. Block has also competed in many action sports events including skateboarding, snowboarding, and motocross. Since selling his ownership of DC Shoes, Block has shifted his business focus to Hoonigan Industries, an apparel brand for auto enthusiasts.

This year’s event theme of the Goodwood Festival of Speed is ‘Flat-out and Fearless: Racing on the Edge’ and few drivers hold this philosophy as close to their hearts as Ken Block, whose amazing Gymkhana videos have won worldwide acclaim and achieved over 300 million views on YouTube.  At this year’s Festival of Speed Ken Block will give the all-new Ford Focus RS – and the awesome Mustang Hoonicorn – their UK debuts.

Andy got to meet Ken Block in person <3

OH MY FREAKING GOD. Is this hot or is this hot?! The Monster Energy Athlete’s reputation has been forged with wonderful displays of car control – his Gymkhana videos often being created in urban locations with buildings, bridges and other immovable objects often just millimetres from the action. He will drive the new Focus RS, which has been developed by Ford Performance and is the 30th Ford to carry the RS badge, up the iconic 1.16-mile Goodwood Hillclimb throughout the weekend.
Block will also bring his incredible ‘Hoonicorn’, a 1965 Ford Mustang ‘notchback’ that has been customised with four-wheel-drive, an 845bhp Ford V8 engine, bespoke suspension and tyres, and bodywork inspired by rally and racing cars plus toys he owned as a child!
