Goodwood Festival of SpeedLast weekend we already shared our little retro story inspired by some Ford classics. Now it gets even better: while I will be in Spain doing a photo story on my personal fitness challenge trying out different running shoes and sweating my butt off, one of our guest editors will be traveling to the largest motoring garden party in the world: the Goodwood Festival of Speed in Chichester.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is an annual hill climb featuring historic motor racing vehicles held in the grounds of Goodwood House, West Sussex, England, enabling fans to see F1 machines as well as cars and motorbikes from motor racing history climb the hill.

Visitors are afforded close views of the action, separated only by a few metres and reinforced straw bales from the track. They are free to walk around several paddocks where the cars and drivers can be seen at close quarters. The atmosphere of the Festival of Speed encourages participation by the fans so that every year thousands of petrolheads from across the world converge on the Sussex countryside. This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever, with a host of UKdebuts and a vast array of rare and formidable racing cars.

Our guest editor from the German car magazine GRIPSTA will be live at the scene so that you can expect some hot stuff. Follow us on Twitter to get the latest updates.
