During my trip to Sydney I got to stay at the QT Sydney– a boutique hotel in the city center, featuring strong art and design elements along with a cutting edge restaurant and bar scene. I have to admit that it felt sooo good to sleep in a comfy bed again, having a luxurious bathroom and a laundry service after my trip to Tropical North Queensland.
QT is Australia’s newest, and most exciting, hotel brand. Whether you want to stay for work or play they offer something unique and untraditional, from their fun and quirky custom design to incredible food and bar experiences. The 200-room QT Sydney is the flagship of the QT brand, on the corner of George and Market Streets in Sydney. With an eye for modern design whilst reflective of past, the 200 guest suites that make up the QT Sydney hotel have been carefully crafted within the historic Gowings and State theatre buildings. This boutique Sydney accommodation retains many of the buildings most distinctive features, such as the blend of Gothic, Art Deco, and Italianate influenced architecture that form the dazzling exterior of the building.
With a contemporary and, at times, quirky design, all guestrooms feature creature comforts such as luxurious bedding, high-speed internet, walk-in showers and most guest suites also offer an indulgent oversized soaking tub.
The lower levels of this truly designer Sydney Hotel, will retain a historical allure but be the home of Sydney’s hottest new bar Gilt Lounge and Robert Marchetti’s newest creation Gowings Bar & Grill.
If I had to recommend a hotel for fashionistas or a young, hip crowd that is looking for something unique, the QT Sydney would be the place to stay. It sort of reminded me of the SoHo House Berlin ’cause at the QT you’ll find a vibrant, creative scene that’s as much a magnet for locals as for visitors!
Incredible Costume Design
Since I went to Sydney on business to cover some fashion stories, I was of course mostly impressed by the unique costume design of the staff members. The QT Sydney is where the creatives mingle, where artists get inspired, where hipsters feel at home – and the perfect place for a little shopping trip to Sydney.
