I am a huge fan of open air movie theaters during summer season. Since my friends and I are passionate cineasts, these events are just perfect for a lovely get-together with your folks. Thus, we hooked up for a public viewing last Friday to watch “The Great Gatsby” at Kino, Mond & Sterne.
I simply called up some of my gals and met them right on site. It was a nice group of girls and although most of them did not know each other before, it immediately clicked. One thing we definitely had in common – besides our little movie addiction – is that we were all crazy about cookies :-). As soon as I took out my little “Bahlsen package“, all hands went on the blanket to grab some cookies. In fact, it was even the perfect “icebreaker”. We immediately had something to talk about, shared our own personal Bahlsen stories and passed our time playing sort of scribble with the Russisch Brot (ABC cookies). We were so into this game that we accidentally blocked three steps of the long stairway with our ABC cookies, trying to form new words. Alright, I have to admit, that we ate most of the cookies, but we did manage to form the title of the movie. :-)
However, we definitely raised many smiles from the crowd, which was a lot of fun so that time was passing by so quickly. It was just one of these ordinary moments you like to share with your beloved ones and that everybody keeps talking about afterwards. We all had a really great time during this hot summer night and already agreed for a next “date” at Kino, Mond & Sterne.
Special thanks to Bahlsen for sponsoring the cookies and making this a wonderful evening for us. I guess, we took our headline “summer moments with Bahlsen” quite literally – who would have known we would attract so much (positive) attention with the cookies?! :-)
A little advice for those who did not have a chance to go to any of the open air movie theaters in Munich, yet: first of all – Kino, Mond & Sterne has the best atmosphere (yes, even without the cookies ;-)) ’cause it sort of looks like one of the old amphitheaters, not too big though, and it’s located right at the lake – this is pretty unique AND romantic. The crowd is great and you have an excellent view from ANY seat. However, make sure to buy your tickets early. I prefer to order them online, ’cause it’s much easier – besides, I order almost anything online. Usually there are only a few tickets left at the door so that they are sold out within a few minutes. Also, make sure to come EARLY. They open the doors at 7:30 p.m. and if you want to get your favorite, comfy spot, be there at 7:00 the latest. Otherwise you will have to wait in a veeeeeery long line. And last, but not least, don’t bring any glass, otherwise you might not get in or have to leave it at the door.
So, for those of you who stay at home during summer season and are still looking for some leisure time tips – this is definitely one. And I am pretty sure, you will have as much fun as I had with my four pretty gals that are shown in the gallery above.
