Hien Le officially opened the Berlin Fashion Week with his winter collection 2013/14.
We are fond of the young Berlin designer and especially love his minimalistic, pure designs. He manages to combine rather bulky materials with linear cuts which gives the so called boxy look an elegant touch. His show started with wonderful pieces in navy wool and silk shirts, dyed in a gradient from beige to blue – a color combination that flatters almost any skin tone. Then he presented all different kind of beige styles, focussing on the combination of bulky materials such as heavy knit or Alcantara with flowing silk or soft wool.
The whole show was inherently consistent, underlined with a great choice of music from Michael Jackson to the Smashing Pumpkins. At his finale Hien Le played one of my all time favorite songs “Tonight, Tonight”, which made it perfect; I always get goose bumps listening to it.
Really a wonderful feeling to start the fashion week.
